Do you feel physically cold when you're anxious?

Postby Generic Man » Sat Jul 28, 2007 9:17 pm

I do sometimes. I don't even have to be in an uncomfortable situation, just thinking about one will do it for me. It feels terrible like my body temperature just took a nosedive.

Does his happen to you?

No.
If I ever get anxious my whole body gets treated to a personal summer thus my temperature skyrockets. Quite unpleasant really...

I feel super hot when i'm anxious however when i become depressed or just feel down I tend to get really cold. I read somewhere that it is because sometimes when we become sad our glands emit melantonin which often causes you to get cold and also makes you tierd hense why some people can litterally cry themselves to sleep. Does anyone else get cold or tierd when depressed?

Hm, I'm like the two above, and I start to sweat a lot.

If I'm anxious out of fear or feeling threatened, I get cold(feeling like having bloodless limbs).
If I'm anxious out of embarassement or shyness, I get hot and sweaty.

Since these feelings make you feel sick, I try to avoid getting in these both situations so I rarely have them. Probably what makes one an avoidant...

I feel the same way. Being put on the spotlight makes feel like I'm wearing a puffy winter coat in a sauna. blegh.

Sweat here, too. As well as stomach pains. I've never felt cold.

I get cold too, it comes with the shakes. I'm not sure my body temperature actually drops, but it feels like I'm in the middle of a blizzard. But I sweat too at the same time, mostly the hands.
Have stomach pains too, but that's usually before appointments and such. I'm usually to nervous to notice them during conversations.

The only times I get hot is when I am angry, or otherwise active.

When I'm depressed I don't feel anything at all. Only gravity pulling me down.

 YES! I never linked it to the anxiety but when I am in a group I am worst. I get completely silent and feel that I have nothing to contribute and simply clam. I feel ridiculous and I get COLD. Really cold, I shiver. This is embarrassing and it makes me seem even more distracted and not committed to the group or the conversation. I want to get away and I LOOK and read very much like I want to get away.
