Yes, I have never had any of my avoidant thinking impact my relationship with my husband. I think it was because we were exclusive from the start. However, with friends you are never exclusive, so I end up thinking people don't need another friend.
It's not that I do not want to care about other people, but I have a hard time expressing it, because that would leave me vulnerable. I think I need to develop more self confidence to get past this.

Yes, I actually think that a lack of self-confidence, self-esteem or maybe a sense of oneself (who you are) can be attributed to a lot of mental illnesses ; AvPD and anxiety in particular.

BDD and vulnerable narcissism/avpd traits.
(possible psychotic traits/undiagnosed, or trauma/anxiety(?)
