For most of my life I've been called retarded by friends and actually my own family including my parents, it use to make me feel terrible about myself, until I learned how to cope with these problems with free counseling, sports, and the internet during the start of highschool. Recently I've had trouble in school and in personal life and I've been harassed because of it and it brings me back to those days were I've felt really incredibly bad to be... me.
How do I make myself feel better about this? Please Help. Any suggests would be greatly appreciated. I live in the Bay Area and places that I can call or websites that are actually helpful would be nice.

Start by trying to ignore people who are putting you down. In my opinion, the more you listen to their comments, the more you become who they say you are. If I were you, I'd go back to spending more time on sports. It will take your mind off of people who are not doing any good to you.
