Hello! A few questions.

Postby Ghastly » Thu Mar 07, 2013 8:37 pm

Hello I'm Ghastly, I have ADHD, and am currently off medication (likely to change). Went off medication a few years ago because the anxiety was getting to me, realizing now that it may have been a issue that should have been brought up and dealt with then, but I was a child and couldn't express anxiety. Currently in a holding pattern until I see the psychiatrist. Anyway my main questions atm are A. anyone else know office furniture that is more fidget resistant than bonded leather? I'm going through an office chair a year and it's getting expensive. B. Any tips for getting to sleep at a decent hour? Can't seem to get myself to go to bed until 1-3am no matter what time I need to get up (even when I need to get up at 4:30 for work)

There was more but I lost it. Sorry if this is unusually disjointed, only had about 2 hours of sleep last night.

Finally remembered. Have you noticed an effect on your emotions/empathy? Will ADHD throw symptoms similar to those of HSP? Do you ever have a problem with feeling like you're in a fog or a dream?

Hmm office equipment, a sturdy wheeling swivel chair. At least, mine hasn't messed up yet. The one at home is a big clunky wooden chair, like something you'd find the amish making, very sturdy. Have had that one two years at home and it's lasted. I've even fallen over in it a few times, fallen with it into a table. Also, there is no connecting pieces of wood between the legs and no thin decorative back. Simple and sturdy (the connectors at the bottom I'd stand up on or mess with and they'd break off). It needs cushioning though and most people might not ever find it comfortable compared to other types of chairs.

Getting to sleep. I have to turn off the computer. I'll stay up forever if I'm on it. Usually I watch some television in the dark where I sleep. Sometimes I'll take 200mg of Theanine and drink some bedtime tea. Sometimes I have a nightcap. The main key though is I have to do some task under the covers in the dark that isn't too stimulating--watching tv or reading.

I don't know what HSP is. I would not call myself emotionally sensitive at all. Fog in a dream, sure. I had a therapist that thought I had dissociative identity disorder (before ADHD). Mostly it feels like there is no clarity, like it's hazy and blurred up there. That was only part of the reason though (the other being caught in internet habits and accomplishing nothing hah). I only really feel as if I'm in a dream if I am having a more off day than normal.
