I came across this forum yesterday and didn't know if there were other veterans than myself with this disorder especially combat vets.
I was curious, how it affected your military career. A lot of people I suspected with ASPD were in trouble a lot for drugs or other things, I didn't feel the need to do anything like that while I was in. Also if there is anyone with combat experience as well? I want to know if you thought it was a benefit as I do or a hindrance in some way?

You are referring to a highly specific demographic, I don't think you'll get any responders.
Although there have been posters who tried getting into the army with Aspd and were unsuccessful - Sharaick comes to mind for most recent - but other than that....

Yea, you're right. I figured i'd give it a shot though on the off chance that there were a few.
I wonder how that person was denied for ASPD, how'd they even know? my recruiters sure didn't.

I'm a vet, got out of the ARMY in the mid-80s.

There are several vets here that I know of. Maybe some of them will respond.

Do you have ASPD as well? If so how did it affect your stint in the Army/combat?

I'm a vet and I've had aspd since my teens. I got a lot of article 15 for dumb stuff talking back not following orders never failed a piss test though but the training I embraced it. I have had urges to hurt people and going into combat and confirming 13 kills by me has helped a lot. Whenever I get these urges now I just think back to my kills the only regret I have is not taking any trophies with me but if you'd like to talk more pm me maybe we could talk over the phone or in person

Yeah, I have quite a few confirmed as well in Talibanland as well. You're right though PM would probably be best, we're on the verge of talking about some stuff that would probably break the rules. Ill send a PM in a few.

I do. I don't really recognize if or how my time in the ARMY was affected. It was a hectic 3 years and it was a long time ago. It might help if you have specific questions. I can't get into what my job was, but I'll answer any questions that I'm able. (no i wasn't in SO)
