Well, it depends what you mean by the term "loser". In what is considered the mainstream view, yes, we are tragedies by definition.
However, I believe that to lose, one must try to obtain something and fail. That is the point, isn't it? Social proof is of no consequence to me. You and I are no more than ants, no less than mammoths, were we to be judged through the application of objective worth.
You see, judgements like "loser" or "winner" are useful in a sense because they help us create a hierarchy. Those values are assigned when choosing the pecking order of a group of individuals, when assessing what they contribute to the tribe.
However, we now live in a society where isolation is possible. To the schizoid mind, I imagine that judgements like those you make are meaningless, hence the indifference to praise and/or criticism.
That is not to say that schizoid minds have not advanced numerous fields of knowledge, as well as making significant contributions to the arts. Here is a quote by Kafka:
For me, the office, the university, the family, and everything else is like a living individual to whom I am bound
for some unknown reason, but for me it is totally foreign.
It is so foreign to me as to be absurd.
