I get the strong sense that we are generally a godless bunch, after all it's kind of hard to see the point in religion or belief in a deity when you have limited emotional range or the ability to express that emotion. The benefits of religion for other people probably simply do not apply to all or most of us.
So I'm just curious, are there any SPD folk here that adhere to religion or religious beliefs, and if you do, are you able to identify the reason for your belief? Please note, I'm not judging anyone here and I'm not going to try and cram atheism down your throat or anything. Just genuinely curious if there any, even just one, SPD with strong religious adherence.

In matter of fact I just came home from church. For me religion is pretty nice.
If not for God for the people, that make me feel safe. They don´t expect anything of me and all are very kind. I can trust them, but it´s probably because I´m the kind of schizoid that got forced to socialize always... Which leaves me in a lot of awkward situations, but not with religious people! They all are very kind and stuff help me when they can. I even got two books for free from a nun!
So yes I´m a christian. And I try to go to church every week.

Not religious as such but i was raised with STRONG christian values, especially! neighbour help as it is the default in rural areas where i grew up. You do not go about life on your own NOT helping your neighbours, thats simply NOT DONE around here, no matter what.
No matter how illiterate i am, i am still the author of my life.

I was raised strictly atheist. My mom told me "don't do good things because you long for heaven or fear hell or because you think someone is watching or because an old book tells you to. Find your own reasons to do good"
Well, I'm not quoting her directly, but that was the general idea.
Meemai, I think it may have been you who said that you go to church mostly just to have a safe place. Do you believe in God (in a Christan way, or otherwise)? I'm not accusing you of anything, I'm just very curious.
not quite right

Belief: Zen Christian mysticism.
Reason: Mainly because it's nice to sit in the shade.

Yes I believe, mainly cause I know. You know I have rheumatism and a man my mom knew could take away pain by praying it really worked. For me thats enough. But I don't mind what others do, non religious, religous I don't care for me everyones a equal. It's just sad people start hating cause I'm religious. A lot of judgement... But I judge no one. Also yes I said church feels like a safe place for me.

I don't think badly of people with a religious belief but I despise religion in general and think very ill of those dependent on it.
