Peanut butter and jalapeño cornbread. Thanks for the tip, Xena.

Well, I suppose it's more like baked corn mush than cornbread, but I'm not sure what to call it.
The peanut butter seems to take the burn out of the peppers somehow. I and other people I know have noticed the same effect with flaxseed products before, but none of us understand the cause. I don't think anyone's tried to get it with raw peppers yet, though; only with pickled peppers or hot sauce.
The first time I tried the combination, I just smeared peanut butter on the bread and put the pickled peppers on top. That was more bland than I expected. Later I tried mixing the peanut butter into the dough/mush and putting the peppers on before baking, which I though yielded a better taste. Today I took the next logical step and mixed the peppers into it, although they could have been more evenly distributed if I'd folded them into it by hand after spreading it out. I think this is my favorite way. It leaves the peppers enough "burn" for a pleasant tingle but not enough to hurt.
What? I was hungry, my resources were limited, and I wanted to try something new.
