Is there scholarly work or treatises on what becomes of adults who were proxies at the beginning of life?

Well I guess you have been googling, and may have found not much comes up.
I think it depends on maybe three factors.
The type of poison (or what has been used to create the symptoms), this leaves in many cases a health issue. Among a variety of strategies my mother used massive amounts of cough mixture. Well it has alcohol and my live function has been below par through my life. I eat well don't drink much and as I have aged it is now lower normal for my age group. So I am fine. But if I had drunk socially over the years it would not be the case.
In many cases it is combined with other forms of child abuse which have their own issues. Attachment, CA PTSD, etc.
The support you have received from others.
This may well be the quietest forum here. I forget the figures in how rare it is, but I the figure of 1 in 50,000 children may be true.
Among the MBP survivors here most seem to have handled it pretty well. I think it depends on how " fragile" the individual is. Fragile may not be the right word but I can' t think of another.
Lots of MBP stories here over the past three years and lots of PMs, I can use to build up more of a base of knowledge.
