One day, chatting casually with my Mom, I made a comment about being bipolar. We had never before discussed my diagnosis, so I was a little unsure how she would respond to the comment.
She took me by complete surprise saying, "Sweetie, you aren't bipolar. You suffer from Terminal Individuality in a world that believes if you don't think like them then you must be ill. I don't know if it is killing them but I'm fairly certain it is only terminal for you if you allow it to be."
She also said, "There are worse things to die of."
I don't think I've ever loved her more than I did that day.

Best answer to someone sharing a diagnosis that I have heard in a while. Your mom is a keeper
I like living in the world in my head because I'm in charge half the time.
