Hi, everyone, I would like you guys to try some things in order to avoid conflicts on this forum.

I would like HPD forum posters who have HPD to please stay away from threads started by non HPDs, if those threads might trigger them. Instead of reading the posts, getting offended and arguing, please avoid those threads unless you feel that you can remain civilized when you reply. It's ok to reply and offer advice to a "non", just be careful about getting triggered, since nons who post here have the right to do so. It's also ok to offer your thoughts or have a normal debate. If anyone harasses you or if they seem to be posting offensive stuff, PM me.

I would like posters from this forum who do not have HPD to not reply in a thread started by an HPD person, as that person might get triggered or offended by what you have to say, as far as your personal experiences and criticism go. You can offer some constructive advice, but be very careful. If you see any problems on the forum, PM me.

Also, I want you guys to be careful not to derail anyone's threads, let the thread be about them or about helping them. If you have a lot to say, start your own thread.

Thanks!

I've never understood why members of the HPD forum (Nons/victims) who are here to figure out the whys and wherefores of people with this dastardly disorder, tolerate HPD's posting in the first place. It's like inviting foxes to a Hen House convention - or sex offenders to a Day Care symposium.

Why are HPD's here in the first place??? Uninvited guests, IMHO. I just don't get it. All they do is divert attention to themselves and away from the intent of the poster. Nothing but major distractions and thread hijacking. Please enlighten me....

There have been fights when people become angry and post in the thread of someone whose opinion or feelings they don't like. This was just a reminder to keep things civilized and only post if they (HPDs or non HPDs) feel that they can keep their anger in check and not start or join a fight. I'm sure you can see that in the rest of my post.
It's fine to debate or offer your own life experience or thoughts, as long as things don't get out of control.
I know this is a support forum mainly for people who have this disorder, but if people make efforts to control their anger, maybe HPDs and "nons" will be able to learn from each other.

This is somwhat true. HOWEVER you can get unbelievable insights from HPDs, just look at some of their posts. They really understand what is going on and can give real closure that mere second hand evidence from nons cannot. Hearing nons and HPD's stories match is very powerful for the non struggling with doubt. And I would imagine it helps the HPD realize the consequences of their actions once the develop empathy. Even some of the tormenting from unreconstructed HPD's in this forum's past can help demonstrate gaslighting, etc.

The good outweighs the bad. Right now there are a lot more HPD's posting here than there ever were judging by old threads, so there is a bit of a shift towards HPD oriented posts and perhaps more of a defensive outlook by HPD's towards criticism. It all balances out though.
