So I have been working as a graphic designer on the 2nd floor of a building for almost 5 yrs now. Over the past year something in the building has caused a increasing vibration throughout most of the upper floor especially where my department is. Its gotten so bad that although its subtle and doesnt seem to bother most it started to eventually cause me nausea but now just causes severe anxiety. I have had to leave work early many times because of it. I have asked if it would be possible to move me to the first floor but I was told no. I was allowed to move to a different desk in the same department but its exactly the same =(
Also the owner/constructer and other building personnel were supposedly told about it but ended up telling my boss who tells me that they dont know whats causing it. So Obviously they just dont care.
Legally I think this isnt right. Not to mention I already have FMLA (for depression related issues) But I hate to end up missing more work than I would otherwise just because of this anxiety the shaking causes and soon any time I miss will be unpaid so that sucks even worse...
I am planning on looking for another job since I see no other means of fixing the problem. Its just a really sad reason to have to leave my job. I started on wellbutrin which I was hoping might help but it really hasnt. I know its more for depression than anxiety...
but regardless its the physical shaking thats causing me to get so worked up...but I dont know...I just thought I would see if anyone has heard of anything similiar happening to them/someone they know, or if anyone has any advice for me, even possibly legal advice?
