Opposite gendered alters

Postby niva » Wed Oct 02, 2013 7:38 pm

I've noticed that a lot of female-bodied multiples have an angry/aggressive/protector male alter. Is this the case for you? (it is not for us). For men with DID who have female alters - are they girly/innocent/vulnerable?
-Big N (usually grounded/OK/the host)
-little n (depressive child part; aka 'Jane')
-Aiden (obsessive/thinker part; no feelings)

Integrated:
-Sonja (preteen; happy/optimistic/good girl/social part)
-niva (teen; aggressive/frantic; lust/passion)
-ninchen (brave child; 9)
-Cedar (spiritual part)

Most of us are male; in my everyday life I am out and present as a guy and have done so for about four years. I'm in a relationship with a woman. Body is female. Original is female but she hasn't been around for years, dunno where she is or if/when she'll show up again. Didn't think there were any girls but recently met a female little and someone in a safe house who I think is an admin. She seems pretty balanced, like. Got an angry arrogant twat of a protector, least I figure he is supposed to be protective. Doesn't always seem that way; his behaviour requires a bit of translation to reach that kind of understanding and sometimes I don't have that level of patience for it.

I have schizophrenia, but i believe i could have DID also, because some of the voices had personalities and allowed me to do things or express emotions through them.

Our official dx is schizophrenia, but I have questioned this for a while. The sz symptoms are very different from the DID which has lead me to wonder if it lies with an alter. When acute, it's been pretty periodic. Despite the potential psychosis I've always maintained reality testing, something that professionals have in the past commented on.

Bo just recently presented to us. She says she has been many forms and genders over the years, but now is a Southern Belle type. Has a Southern Accent, very feminine like movements and affectations.

To be honest, it kinda f*&ks us up as she is the first female to FRONT, having usually just heard 'head talk' before.

I have a feeling we're going to be wearing dresses around the house sometimes. She would like that I think.

Thanks for listening. :)

Body is female.
We have 1 adult male who's able to be aggressive, 1 male adolescent who is aggressive all the time, 1 adult female who's able to be very aggressive but is mostly just hurt, all of these are 'typical by the book' protectors.
We have 1 female adolescent who can really stick up for us too, she's really aggressive and self confident too if need be and a protector that way, but she favors TW **sex** and flirting to get it done. We have one little sad boy who can handle a lot.
We have one 'non-alter' who is capable of, and simultaneously not capable of aggression, she's a protector but she's also much more and I don't know how to classify them (they're possibly a subsystem).

Our other alters are 1 male and 1 female toddler, 1 male child and 1 female child (who has a pet/fragment dog), 1 female in between childhood and puberty and one adult female.
This is TheCollective. Well except for the subsystem, only one of them is considered part of TheCollective.

We have one animalistic/wild alter who is all about escapism. She's an adult female but does not behave like one. She's a protector too. A very insanely aggressive manipulator who might be part of this subsystem mentioned above, and others which I don't know enough about to write down.

My female voices and the russian voice in my head are caused by schizophrenia, but they know foreign languages.Maybe thats what i experienced, and i was just repeating what they said. actually i think it was them talking and i thought i was talking.

female body, mostly female head-mates.

ell and her people are the most aggressive by nature but not necessarily in a protective way? like, in the way that some empathetic people can tune in on what to say to make someone feel better, ell is kinda the opposite: in tune with what to say to hurt you most or open your worst psychic wounds so she can smirk and then stalk off. She'll trigger someone or say just the right words to break someone down, when she wants to. Sometimes this is protective and other times it's kinda "her game". She doesn't really compute "danger" in a normal way, so her protective techniques are dysfunctionally accepting of actual violence (she sorta relishes that), but she rejects friendship or closeness on a person level and will lash out against it.

i guess us warriors gals are more outwardly aggressive in protecting our own, mostly in a mouthy, sometimes physical way. Like if someone's all up in our space, i'll shove my way the hell out of that situation, so what if i step on a few toes? back. off. And we're also protective on the internal landscape. like, ell is classically our enemy, and so we camp out in our desert which is next to their forest gate, and if they launch attacks, we retaliate. That doesn't happen much anymore.

The guys we have aren't so aggressive. One will howl or freak out about chores and cleaning and all that but is quiet as a mouse any other time, another is pretty much confused/brooding and living his own version of a bildungsroman at the moment (who am i???? etc etc), one is some weird buddhist-hippy gamer nerd, another is bookish and antisocial, and the last is a friggen fairy, depending on who we're talking about.

some of the kinder-ell are wild little boys and they're pretty damn aggressive, but not in clear-cut protective way. If we got really f*cking deep about it maybe it is protective in the sense they internalized some really whack stuff and now repeat it because it's normalized, but that's about it.

so no, we're not the girl with the brute protecting man. ell does have some male archangel protector guy too, but he's really just philosophical with a god complex and concerned with internal politics, not outside stuff. /rant
