Publicity

Postby Mae the First » Thu Sep 26, 2013 1:49 pm

Hey everyone. One of the systems we look up to is the system of MultiplicityandMe from YouTube, and lately they've been getting a lot of publicity--on TV, in a documentary, in the newspaper, and so on.

Has anyone ever gotten any (hopefully positive) publicity where you're from? I'm not asking for you to point to your specific case, as I know it's important to not reveal your "real life identity". Just a question.

If you have, how were you approached? Or did you submit a letter or video anywhere?

We're very curious. Our main mission in life (so far) is to dispel myths about our condition, and to bring light to it, as it's very misunderstood. MultiplicityandMe is doing an excellent job in the UK. But we haven't seen anyone in the US in the media lately.

Why not us? Or any of you.

I am a musician, have been all my life. When I had my big breakdown a few years ago i decided it was then to do what i always wanted to do and start a solo music career and do it with all original songs.

2 years in and I have 40 songs written, some recorded, I play live shows when I am able and am gaining a name for myself in my country, and now recording my first album.

This is the hardest thing i've ever done, but i use the medium to educate about my DID as I use my songs as a way to access my trauma.

I've been interviewed in paper and on radio, volunteer a lot of my time for Big Brothers & Sisters. Music has always been my great support, I lived in music, thrived in music and now use it as a way to build myself up, by tearing down and sharing.

Thanks for letting me tell my tale.

i'm english, but hey, i might change my channel to US soon... my plan is to start early as a let's player, wait until i have a few thousand subs (if ever) and do a special about DID... i never said it was a good plan. :P if i can do that, hopefully we'd be more understood by the internet. if i can do that.
Currently known alters:
Host: Liam, 15, born with aspergers

Possible/probable alters:
mute/protector(?): dubbed Luke, main reason for my belief that I have DID.

I don't actually know whether I want DID or not... I'd always have someone to talk to, but it would probably ruin my future career... Meh, who needs money?

We've got a major interview with a publication that reaches all of the San Francisco Bay Area and central California. I think I may faint.
