system map advice

Postby skin » Sun Sep 22, 2013 6:52 pm

i would like to make a system map in order to start really trying to make sense of things and maybe achieve some kind of order; i feel very out of control and confused right now and it's not getting easier, i don't know if i'm approaching some kind of harder switch but that's the feeling i get, that or parts are trying to emerge...

does anyone have any advice on where to start and what kind of structure might be useful? i would appreciate any advice at all on how to go about this.

Alexa: It might help to first make a list of everything you want to put in the map. Just all the information.

Love: And you can turn it into a different structure from there. The appropriate structure for a system map depends on the system.

Kat: The one we posted on the blog on this site is in list form, but we'd probably make it into a different shape if we wanted to. We'd personally do it in the shape of the Inner World, since it has different areas inside. We'd just put the alter in the appropriate area on the map. You can find a way that works for you, though. I think the list thing is a good starting idea, though.

any advice on blocking? keep attempting to start or just thinking about it and quickly feel super exhausted or diverted to something else.

Skin - if you mean you're trying to do it all at once and they're not letting you, could you try something like asking everyone to write their name on a post-it note when they are out. When you have collected them all put them on a sheet of paper...it would be a start to have all the names together.

Ours didn't get get done one day, it took time to build up. Even if you had on one sheet of paper one group of you (if you seen some of you close to each other), then at another time another group on another piece of paper.....they can decorate the page however they want :D
The main ones around nowadays are
Hannah (18) Hannah (5) Rachel (21) Rach(5) Tiffany (4) Layla (4) Steph (18-21) Kaja (18) Katie (14) Katy (14)

We made ours on FreeMind. First we had Groups, like "The Nine" or "The Spectrum" because we came in groups, sorta. TW--but then some of us integrated, so now we have on the wall above our bed an arc of Post-Its with each name, age, birthday, and nationality, just in a cloud/arc-thing. Maybe letting each one have a physical representation would make them feel valid?
Elyse (20), Ophelia (21), Ellie (4), Candy (13), Mae (23), Nevan (25), Marjorie (14), Georgia (27), Adam (23), Damon Black (24), Clara (25), Lily (17-25), Sammy (21), Alice (8); The Others are trying to get their lives straightened out.
Friendly hugs and ToE are fiiiiine ;3

Groups make sense, something else I hadn't considered. I kinda figured we were all at relative distances from each other but I can see how there could be exclusive groups.
