Animal Alters

Postby AltCtrlDel » Thu Sep 12, 2013 12:14 pm

Night: When I came into the system, I was a wolf. I would open my eyes and be in school. I'd feel panicked. My senses were heightened. I had phantom feelings, like fur, tail, sharp claws and teeth, etc. Even my thoughts were different. I didn't have words, just vivid imagery in my mind and feelings from all the input my senses were experiencing. Sometimes I'd wake up while walking outside. I'd want so badly to drop to all fours and run into the woods. Something usually stopped me though. Eventually, I learned how to behave human. So I suppose I evolved or devolved (depending on how you look at it) into otherkin. I'm often blended with my wolf self, but technically, he could take over fully. I'm the protector.

Verumi: When I am out, I experience phantom shifts too. I feel a second set of eyelids blinking and a tail and snout for example. Sometimes I practice deep breathing which helps me feel in tune with my actual self. I'm also very in tune with the big picture / nature. The system considers me the inner-therapist and spirit guide.

Night: Anyone with animal or otherkin alts - what is your experience like?

We are all animals. Some of us moreso than others. None of us identify with "human." We have phantom body parts, tails or wings. Some of us walk on all fours (although all of can walk on twos if needed). Some of us have more heightened senses and memories of flying. It is confusing to have pain in a body part that your current body doesn't have but you remember having and feel.
We're not invited.
