RE: Different Religions within the system?

We have a 10 element system. We are still getting to know one another but today something came to light. We have different religions and beliefs... Is this a normal thing for us to be so very different even down to a religion?

Will and Matt are Buddhist
Alexei and Tom and Gabriel are Jewish
Jo and Azrael and Andrew are Atheist
Amon is Egyptian Polytheism
Damon is Greek Orthodox

How do we solve this. We cannot go to all those religious gatherings can we?

Absolutely. This is a topic that comes up from time to time

We have 4 religions I think in our system.

We have come to an agreement that the body belongs to one religion/a few denominations (e.g only does rituals and such from that religion and within set parameters), the same that a majority of us belong to. Others have their religious freedoms on the inside. This isn't for everyone but works for us because those that do not share the body's religion are either (a) not particularly religious or (b) are content with living mostly on the inside and likes to have their life there.

You could also create your own sort of mish-mash of rituals. We don't have as many religions as you do, but we do have religious conflict, and that helps. Each alter to whom religion is important stated what they wanted to do religiously. And when we couldn't accommodate everyone, we compromised and are trying to include what each person can live with. Go to this church every week, stop by that other church once a month, wear religious symbols from this faith a few days a week, pray once a day to this God, that kind of thing.

Yes! Though I think it makes sense, seeing as we are all separate we do our best to split up time between them, though we are also in something of a situation where we find it difficult to do so.

For example, our system:
I am pagan
Cecelia, Kat, and Lucas are christian
Tetra, Archaea, Legion, and Hexa are deist (sp?)
Lucy and Duadexa believe on reincarnation (but dont fit into any particular category)
Vilkai is really close to Buddhist (also doesn't fit quite into a category)
The rest I dont know/aren't sure

cassandra believes in God and Jesus but doesn't really practice religion

kat, phenix, and dallas for sure aren't Christian and don't practice religion, but they do believe that there is some higher being up there that's put a lot of time into this world. (so, agnostic?)

l.c. and luna and rain are like a mix of Buddhist and their own beliefs, but they definitely believe in a higher being/the existence of a God.


and the rest i don't know/we don't know about.



for us, our compromise is that whoever's out is allowed to go to some meetings, like i can go to church sometimes if i want to, but no one else has to be there/go if they don't want to. (they'd just stay inside the inner world). and then for the most part we don't try to show favor to any one religion and we try to accept that we can all have different views on stuff and we don't pressure each other to change and we let each other practice whatever we want to inside (like i can pray all i want to inside. i can pray if i'm out too, but only if i'm out and i have to do it quietly to myself and such).

We tried to come to an agreement. So far we have got that the Jews can go to synagogue and cheder. However the greek orthodox and Egyptians clash too much. Amon wants to go to a temple but that would clash with the tradition of never entering a dead religions temple that Damon has

it can be hard to work this stuff out but just try to come up with the best compromises possible for the most part.

also, having the freedom to practice religions inside the inner world can help.

This I think is called deism - you believe in a creator but there is no real spiritual aspect or anything to it. Agnosticism is more like you don't know/dont have a religious view.
I think...

It ended up with us having to build one in the inner world.
So we have an egyptian temple, an orthodox church, a synagogue and a buddhist temple.
It seems to have divided us slightly but also allowed us to be happy about our religion.

that's interesting... i never noticed anyone being of different religion than...well, I am, the now I, but then we never talked. maybe because we all took in all possible influences, when someone reads a book everyone else basically sits down and 'listens' so if I read some history of some religion they all listen.

but i will ask if they are bend that or that way. very cool topic...
