Stories/Personal Histories

Postby Gerudo7 » Mon Jan 28, 2013 3:25 pm

Greetings!

I have been wondering... Though we know they do not apply to the body, and are not necessarily "true", many of us have a sort of story about who we are or where we come from. Is this true in other systems as well?

*Possible Trigger Warning for Some References to Religion*
For example, a few of us come from other realms. I am from a small village in one of the Eternal realms. It had something of a desert climate, though most of my realms was forested, and we had much folklore telling of the three realms that people here seem to believe in - Heaven, Hell, and Earth - as well as many others. We were not all that powerful in comparison to the other Eternal realms, but, being a mid-point for reincarnation, we did get to become a largely cultural center. We have heard stories of people like Alexander the Great, Lucifer the Fallen, Viscieth the Conqueror, and many others. Some of us have been privileged enough to hear these stories first hand, though not myself.
*End*

But back to the point, does anyone else have these kind of stories? I'd love to hear them if you do.

~Lucy

This very much is true for many other systems, too. I will check with those inside about how they feel about talking openly about this topic. It is very interesting :)

We have our own stories. When we're up to it, we'll share more, but we just wanted you to know that you're not the only one.

I too have my own story. It is very long, as I have had quite the lengthy life, but here I shall abridge it for the sake of those who read this.

*Possible trigger warning*

I am Vernadael Teiryn, the third to carry this name. I am from the demonic realms and, as to be assumed, I myself am a demon. I take after my sire in that I am able to control fire and have a mastery over magic, and I take after my mother in her succubus nature making me half a demon of fire and half an incubus.
When I was young and foolish, I had the grand idea to make myself immortal (my kind only live to about ten thousand or so... I am quite a bit older than that.) To do this, I had to remove my very soul from its fleshy (and attractive ) vessel and tie it to a certain element. Naturally, fire was chosen for the task. Once done, I could now possess my original skin again and use it like a puppet. I found I could do this to any living (or deceased) being. Skip to many, many, many, (etc) years later; I have figured out and mastered the ability to split this flame of mine into "carriers" and be able to keep up with several awareness-es at once. I have only two carriers in this world at the moment. One in this being (a good choice, I do say) and one in a fourteen-year-old boy in China.
There is much to say about myself, but I shall stop here unless anyone else would like to know more.

*End trigger warning*

I know this would sound far-fetched to most, however this is my story. The more relevant part of it, anyway.

Good day to everyone.

Vernadael, you do have quite the interesting story! We seem to have one or two demons as well, though they are rather different from you. I do wonder, though... Why sign as Eric? Is there any particular reason for choosing that name?

Yes, I suppose some might think it far-fetched, but I've heard many strange stories. Many Mortal-realmers seem to have trouble truly grasping such stories, though; however, there are also many who can appreciate them.

Yes, demons come in all kinds of breeds. I have met demons known to faith and those that have hidden from those mortals so well that there that there is nary a mention of them anywhere but here.

Eric Shepard is the most recent (well, the surname was Smith until a couple of years ago) mortal name I have chosen for myself. Many memories of significance I have tied to the name Eric... It has been a long while since I have been called anything else.

Ahh. I can see that. Would you mind if I called you Vernadael, though? I kind of like the name. It sounds... Different from what you tend to hear around this realm. (My apologies if this seems rude; I'm not sure what formalities you are used to.)

While I am of noble decent, my abilities have allowed me to partake in all walks off life across this realm and my own. I have been treated like a god and I have been treated as though I was less than scum. Please, feel free to call me by my birth name. The only thing I expect in terms of respect or formalities is the same civility you would offer others. But... If you were inclined to treat me with any sort of respect, be my guest.

I have a much simpler story than y'all, but I'll share it anyway.

I'ma from a little town in Arkansas, raised on a farm. We grew cotton and had a sheep herd for wool, tha' was our income. The other animals we had jus' for our family- cows for milk, pigs for meat, chicken for eggs and meat, an' a few horses. I had mah own horse, name was Spice, an' boy howdy, was she full of it. One o' the first times I rode her she took off outta nowhere at a full gallop, leavin' me hanging onto the reins and only carin' 'bout stayin' in that saddle. Slowed back down again once mom caught up with me, though. It was jus' mah mom and me runnin' the farm, mainly. Mah grandparents lived with us, too, and they helped where/when they can.

Spent most of mah life growin' up in a small town up in Washington, though. Type o' small town where everybody knows everybody. Found the country inside the beach places. Moved up there an' got us a real farm, growin' and sellin' wool, eggs, beef, an' produce. Wasn't too bad. I started gettin' into the little rodeo up there, doin' barrel racin' and bareback bronco ridin'. Made some money offa those at times. Came in first a couple times, too. Got a job at the local bakery when I got old enough, mainly puttin' the frostin' on donuts and restockin' the donut display an' such. Kept with the rodeo stuff, though. Loved doin' that.

So yeah, tha's basically mah story 'bout where I come from (though I know in reality it ain't exactly true, but it's still nice to think about an' such). (I could prob'ly write more, but the others gotta start gettin' ready for stuff).

Simple stories can be as wonderful as intricate and exciting ones. Sometimes more-so.
You have a lovely history, Marie. You are very lucky. :)
Congratulations on your first place winnings as well.
