interesting. Dr C.Ross was my doctor a couple times about 10 years ago. He had two hospitals of his own at that times. He traveled bi weekly between the two and also did video "confrencing" for group therapy if not in town. He seemed very smart adn kinda scary to most patients it seemed. He specialized in DID, eating disorders, PTSD and the like. A great hosptial to be understood.

YW
Some people have a problem with the different views of biology, psychiatry and psychology.
Colin Ross loves to tackle this! This video, as well as others on this site address this issue.

Thank you for sharing, Tylas!
I really like how he basically says, whether these memories are real or fake, at the end of the day, what is important is that the patient is being helped. That whether it was real or not is a separate discussion.
A question.
He calls psychiatry a scam. And he clearly refers to the drugs being used in the field. But how are the people then called who do the work not involving drugs? (i.e. the people that, for example, treat DID.)
Now at least I know my resistance towards these drugs is healthy (quite literally).
Dx:
PDD-NOS. Tested for dissociative disorders and
PTSD but they say the symptoms are attributable to PDD-NOS.

Exactly!
It goes this like:
MOST Psychiatrists - If a pill cannot fix it, then it does not exist. They are not usually trained to do therapy.
MOST Psychologists - They do therapy and cannot prescribe meds.

Tylas, thank you for clearing that up! I was confused by the terminology.
English is not my native language, but in my language, almost the same words are used so I expect them to mean the same (this is almost always the case).

Psychology vs Psychiatry in such books can be quite evident in use of medication and belief in dissociative disorders.
