WTF? Is my mom cured?

Postby albert12 » Fri Jul 24, 2015 10:18 pm

hey guys. I need your opinion here. Mom finally went to therapy. I don't see her but I get emails here and there. Anyway she's not diagnosed bpd but she has every single symptom. She received bio resonance therapy which is more popular in Europe. This thing sends a magnetic field to any point in your body including your brain and sets it to balance. America is still researching this but apparently it is legal to use as there doesn't seem to be any harm in it.

So anyway. She went and after a week or two she was shockingly different. For the first time she was apologizing for all her past mistakes that she know understands were her fault. She's all excited and positive in the emails. She never apologized before. She's also very pessimistic in the emails in the past but her recent emails are all positive. The family which I don't speak too is going to through a celebration to celebrate the new her. I won't be there since I cut communication.

Here's the twist. She has faked recovery before but she made a slip up and I caught her red handed pretending to be someone she is not.

But also, she's not big on medical terminology and she explained what they are doing to her and I believe that she is actually getting therapy.

Her clarity of speech in emails seems drastically improved. Nothing strange or accusatory. Just positive words, apologies, and excitement.

I know this isn't a whole history but what is anyone's opinion on this?

My first steps toward getting better were to fake it. You have to know something's wrong to give the appearance you've improved in that area.

I didn't think I was faking. To me it was dead serious (working on minimizing my false self, facing more outward than inward, thinking of the other person whom I interacted with, or previous interactions that were problematic.). I think a non would say I was faking if they knew how I was "managing" myself.

But, it takes practice for things to become habitual. I'll probably never be normal. I'll probably always be "faking" in some ways where it doesn't come naturally to me. But, that's a billion times better than being unaware.

You know her better than I do. But, I think it would be appropriate to reinforce her attempts. If you're no contact, then that's hard. But, at what level of self-awareness could you reconcile yourself to her? I think awareness is a huge step. Seeking treatment would be.

Just a quick update to this modern treatment my mom is getting. She doesn't seem to be faking it. I went back and forth asking questions. She seems to have gotten some serious clarity in life. She says it's not that she is happy, but that she is not miserable or depressed. She says that it's not only her noticing this huge change but people around her too. She said that it was visible on her face that she is feeling a whole lot better. The relatives threw a surprise party for her to celebrate.

I outright told her that she is capable of faking this but she didn't get defensive or anything. She just brought up feeling so regular and that others have clearly noticed themselves. She mentioned someone telling her that although they loved her as a relative but they had a hard time being around her as she was always depressed. Then they threw her a surprise party. And she left it at that. From my point of view it feels like I am talking to a perfectly healthy person who used to be unhealthy.

I also told her that if this is real, it would be a breakthrough treatment for other people with borderline. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I'm inclined to believe it's a placebo effect. But, I don't know if a placebo can settle the kind of turmoil a BPD has. I googled for "bio-resonance + bpd" didn't see anything except your post and maybe something at another site (which sounded like it might be you?).

Where did she hear about this as a treatment?

Regarding placebo, I knew someone who worked as an attorney for the government. One day near closing time a fellow walked into the office clearly disturbed. He started telling the attorney that aliens are following him everywhere they go, they implanted a tracking device in him and... The attorney was eager to go home, so he cut this fellow off saying "sir, sir, relax." He returned to writing tomorrow's to-dos, "we're well aware of this. You are not the only one. We have our best people looking into it. Until we get to the bottom of this, what you need to do is straighten out an old coat-hanger and connected it onto your belt, letting the coat-hanger drag behind you. This will short the signal."

The fellow furiously shook the attorney's hand, tears in his eyes as he repeatedly gave thanks.

A couple weeks later the attorney was driving down a DC street when he saw this fellow walking down the street, big smile on his face, and a coat-hanger attached to his belt, dragging behind him. :)

It could be placebo. Go along with it. Whatever it is. Help her experience normal. If it's fake, at least she'll know that being normal really is better. It might give her an incentive to develop more normal behaviors, etc.

My borderline mom believes in mystics so i have seen her in this placebo situation before. Keep in mind that she apologized for certain ways she has disrespected me in the past And admited she was wrong which is the first time this Ever happened. Her emails Look like a normal person is writing them. The treatment is brand new in América but not europe. The treatment has multiple uses. It can be used in the BODY as Well. Sorry typing on phone. What the treatment does is detect magnetic imbalances And resets them to optimal conditions. She mentironed they Found imbalance in her left lung as Well. If this works then there is hope for others as it takes 2 sessions for the cure. This was invented in 1971 which means its pretty much very new. I have only posted here. Do u have a link to the other post?
