Really, does it matter how you pronounce Aspergers?

Warning - general rant.

I've been pulled up and corrected twice this week by kind meaning women who felt it necessary to point out that Aspergers is pronounced "Aspergurs" (phonetics really not my thingy) wereas I pronounce it as it's spelt.

It's never bothered me how I pronounce it but since aspie became the new black, I'm starting to get a little peeved at people who don't have this, correcting me as if they are doing me a favour.

The only pronunciation issue I have is when people pronounce it with a "b" when there is clearly no "b". Assburgers, or Assbergers. WTF?

Also it's "bi polar" that's the new black.

Is it really? Oh well I'm not going for another dx just to keep up.
