They just love to judge, don't they?

Postby slither » Sat Mar 30, 2013 3:08 am

Simple observation:

Small minds...small talk...easily offended...says a lot (but means almost none of it), desires to be compared, controlled, is inwardly selfish, and interpersonally not at peace.

Large minds...reserve judgement for only those who want to be judged, and attempt to show small minds how to expand.

Really large minds...cannot interact in meaningful ways until everyone else catches up to them. Like living on a prison planet every day of your life. Creativity and thought experiments are the only way to lessen the soul crushing boredom and mediocrity of your surroundings. Hope that they will be able to see the universe how you do one day, is the only reason you hold on.

I think, technically, everyone judges others on some level. It may not be an outward judgment (as in, they tell someone), but I think most people judge internally. I think it's biologically built into us to determine friend from foe as quickly as possible for safety reasons.

Some are much better about being accepting, though...and that's the important thing. The initial judging is okay, but accepting the other person and moving on is even more important. I wish I was better at this.

Looking at that list, we ALL do things in all three categories at times.

Small minds like to be compared? This list IS comparing, so there ya go.
Large minds judge those who "want" to be judged? I don't think anyone wants to be judged (in this context anyway, I assume you're not talking about an actual contest), so this statement itself, is judging, by concluding that people want to be judged.
Really large minds live in a prison, hoping that others will be able to see the universe "like they do". But until you can see the universe the way every other person does (impossible), then you're doing the same they are.

Look, I used to judge a lot. But then after hitting rock-bottom and just going through lots of "stuff", and took a really hard look in the mirror. Every since, I have lived my life trying not to be a hypocrite. And wow, let me tell you, I have come to believe that that is just about THE hardest thing for a human being to do, and is very nearly (if not literally) impossible to be entirely non-hypocritical. Sure some people are a lot better at it than others, but there are always small ways where you can catch yourself. All one can do is get as close as they can. I have found it to be an impossible task to master, but I keep trying.

I like it. Even the "drink the wine" part, as I used to swear off anything alcoholic until I decided to "let the world be the world".

I don't mind. I feel vulnerable expressing my thoughts, but it's the only way I can grow as a social person. 8)

Technically, to let the world be the world, you would first have to define what the world is, second, if you mean the Earth and everything on it, you would have to stop breathing to stop affecting it. :P

I think consuming crackers and wine in the name of a messiah is actually a subtle hint that would suggest the ancestors of the very same people who perpetuate this tradition, actually ate their messiah, while their descendants wonder why his body wasn't found. :|

I call it "Stalag Earth"...

Many (if not most) of "them" judge us based on ignorance.
Many (if not most) NTs assume their social protocols are the only valid means of social interaction.

I find the arrogance of many (if not most) NTs infuriating, suffocating and ironic...
And, imo, most (if not all) of this NT subset of closed minds will never change their point of view because they are in the majority and are reinforced by the social matrix which is predominanty the originator of their indoctrinated mindset.
**********************
The implied qualifier is probably "tendency" if not otherwise stated...
I don't generalise in the classic sense...
My default MO is to think in terms of probabilities/improbabilities...

Is IS the only way! Oh, some people can learn some from observing others, but most people can't, and we aspies are not particularly good at it!

slither wrote:Technically, to let the world be the world, you would first have to define what the world is

Why? I don't think I have to really understand a thing to "let it be itself", whatever "it" is.

slither wrote:second, if you mean the Earth and everything on it, you would have to stop breathing to stop affecting it.

Well if you want to get technical, I die, I rot, I get eaten, I'm still affecting the earth! And anything I touched while alive is affected too. A deep subject, but I'm not sure what this pertains to.

I have no comment on this, I just drink wine to alleviate my tension headaches. And I drink tequila to help me socialize LOL

Oh, Shelly, you do enjoy it up in the clouds don't you? Looking down on all the blue-pilled mindless lemmings.

The world isn't that bad. There are some brilliant folks out there, and the ones who aren't, well, they're just there remind us how nice it is to have a brain. Sure sometimes I'm surprised at how stupid some people can be about certain things (e.g. logical things), but they can call me stupid too about other things. My signature goes both ways.
