Distrubed Menstrual cycle

Postby Paxton » Tue Nov 22, 2011 7:38 am

You may have noticed that Irregular periods are becoming a common problem among young girls now and I am wondering what would be the main cause of it. Is it the consequences of the modern living style or the diet that we take daily?
I think we give preference to sex life more than any other activity in daily life and take birth control medication that would be causing this condition.

I`m not sure if it is an extremely common thing now-a-days, but I have always had irregular periods, my longest now without one is 8 months. I went to the gyn and they put me on birth control which I am still currently on. So far, I have not seen any difference with it, but when I was in the hospital back in October due to a kidney stone, they found that my ovaries are slightly twisted. (Apparently this is a heriditary thing, though no one in my family has had either). It may be due to my diet, or it could be something else. :/

Mine didn't stop, ever. I took birth control, which made it stop altogether. Now I have stuff that makes it pretty regular. They told me its usually the only way. I also may have poly cystic ovarian syndrome (where your ovaries get cysts and screw up your hormones and periods.) Diet can effect it if you don't get enough nutrition. Some girls are just irregular.

Well, I know that plastic products (bottles and cups and what have you) has been shown to effect when girls get their periods. Also, the increased stress on young girls, and the pressure to be perfect might have something to do with it. Stress does weird things to the body.
