I've been having a period for almost a month now. My periods have been pretty normal in the past, so it concerns me a little. I am on birth control. Nexplanon. However, I've been on it for years and never had a problem. I wasn't even considering seeing the doctor because I was like it's probably a cyst or hormones, but my family was like it's not normal see the doctor. So I saw the doctor (well, his nurse practitioner) and I explained what was happening and I had blood drawn. I go back to see her for a PAP this coming up Monday.
My symptoms are confusing where I don't know how to explain it well. The bleeding has went down. It's now between a spotting and light period. Sometimes just clots come out, but they are small. It goes between bleeding and times there is gooey blood...I guess discharge. I have a deep pain in my stomach when I have sex. This is new. As far as pelvic pain, it's weird. I wouldn't say it's pain. It's like a full, tightness I guess. Sometimes I have slight pain, but it's not in an isolated place.
I'm not sure if this symptom is connected, but there have been a few nights in the past where my uterus would cramp so bad it would wake me up.
I decided to post on here because I need to talk about it, but I don't want to bother or worry my friends or family about it.
My neighbor has me worried a little more than I probably should because I was talking to her about what was going on and she said that I need to take it seriously because she had similar issues and it turned out she had uterine cancer and had to have a hysterectomy around my age. I'm 21 about to be 22. I do get worried about cancer at times because it definitely runs in my family. However, I do prepare for the worse for things so I can handle it if it actually comes.
