Hello everyone. I have never posted here before. You will see me in the OCD forum.
I've suffered with anxiety disorder for as long as I can remember. It started off as separation anxiety as a child and has developed into Pure-O OCD as I've gotten older.
I am here today to ask if anyone suffers with Globus Pharyngus or Globus hystericus. It is the "lump" feeling in your throat, mainly caused by anxiety and panic disorders, or a lot of stress.
I am under an intense amount of stress from family issues, living in a foreign country and not knowing the language (though that's the least of my worries) and constant OCD questions. The lump in throat feeling creates nausea, which only worsens my OCD symptoms, as I then obsess that I'm going to be sick. The lump in throat sometimes click when I swallow or move my head in certain positions. It is relieved when I am eating and swallow food, however when I'm just drinking (regular water) or not eating, it's quite big it feels. I don't feel an actual lump in my throat, however when I push my finger down on the side of my neck sometimes it clicks (but not often). I don't know if this is normal or not. I know that when I'm not stressed or anxious, the lump is hardly ever there or even noticeable and I'm able to function.
I wonder if anyone else suffers with this lump in throat feeling and whether or not they have cures. I'm going to be trying yoga and develop new eating habits over the next couple of weeks, as well as seeking some kind of stress management to help cope with all the different stressful factors around me. One thing at a time, but does anyone else suffer with this and have any remedies or cures?
