Hi there

Acid reflux can be very common and often aggrivated by stress and anxiety (in my experience anyway) although i can't give you a medical opinion you could see a doctor who may be able to prescribe you some medication. You could also try using something like gavison to see if that eases the reflux. Once you have sorted out the discomfort from the reflux you may find that working on the reasons behind your anxiety helps it. Reflux can be caused by many things and things like other medications can also cause it so it is definately worth seeing a dr.

My GP prescribes me a tablet called Omeprazole 20mg which I take twice a day. Keeps my acid under control a treat. :)

It's not always anxiety. Many, many of us have stomaches that produces too much acid.
Zantac or Ranitidine work for many cases, myself included. You have to take it correctly
though. Also, don't take these pills with antacids.

If I take Zantac daily, I can eat anything. If I don't, I'm so sick I can hardly function.

Definitely check with your doctor if you're experiencing acid reflux as if this is left untreated for long periods of time it can cause damage. Also, please check with your PCP/GP to ensure that it is safe to take any over the counter medications.

In my case, I have anxiety, ulcers and that leads to some rough acid stuff all around. I take anxiety meds but that can also lead to acid build up. Its a balancing act at the moment for me. I am working on the anxiety so hopefully that reduces some of this.

I would talk to a doc if I were you, just my two cents here. Good luck to you :)

Hi

I am suffering with anxiety and panic attacks and have had bad acid reflux for years, I currently take a double dosage of Lansoprazle and then always have gaviscon on hand for when it's really bad and I need something else

I would advise buying some gaviscon and talking to your doc as left untreated it can do damage and they can try you on medication to help keep it under control

It seems you can suffer with acid reflux for a number of reasons but stress certainly doesn't help xx

Yep I suffered this, it got especially bad after I had my daughter. It got to the point where I was averaging a full blown panic attack every second night, nausea and very acidic.

I have cured it completely by cutting out ALL dairy. It wasn't easy as I love cheese and ice cream ... but everything has stopped. The panic attacks, acid and nausea. Even my periods are half as painful.

I highly recommend cutting out all dairy products before you resort to meds. You may be able to cure it like I did.

It got that bad for me that I was scared all the time of the next attack, it was like I was under attack.
Periods were the absolute worst time, guaranteed full blown panic attack and acidic nausea every time.
