SAFETY ISSUES

This forum can be a useful place to come to for peer support and some good friendships have been made on here. However, the internet can often be used by predators who use forums such as this as a means to prey on vulnerable people.

If you enter into correspondence with people on here, please be aware that not everyone is always as they seem, and that some predator types can actually groom people for some considerable time, gaining their trust. There are people on here who, due to their psychological issues, can be vulnerable. If a member here approaches you, please tread very carefully, taking the friendship slowly, at a pace you are comfortable with. Use your discretion if you give away personal details such as your e mail address or phone number via PM. The Board cannot be responsible for events that occur outside this forum, and if you are concerned about the motives of anyone when corresponding with them outside the forum, you should contact your local police in disturbing circumstances.
