I am not someone who likes to rant for no other purpose except ranting. This time is not an exception. I am posting here in the hope that the forums administration will take action to make the forums a safe place for sexual abuse survivors.

I don't believe I have to explain extensively why pedophiles should not be allowed to post on the sexual abuse and the child abuse forums because this is a matter of common sense. I don't accept any explanation/justification for keeping the above mentioned forums open for pedophiles for posting. I believe that the survivors' safety should be the administration's priority. Some outrageous things have been posted on the abuse forums by pedophiles. Some of them said to survivors that abuse was bad only because "someone told them it was bad" and that the survivors are stuck in their "narrative of victimization". Saying the above things to sexual abuse survivors is re-abusing them and it's incomprehensible why the admin allows such re-traumatization to take place on these forums. I don't want to hear anyone say to me that posting on abuse forums helps pedophiles heal because this is insulting to any survivor to hear that pedophiles' "healing" should come at the expense of survivors' safety and at risk of them getting re-abused! This is unacceptable!

Simply being a pedophile doesn't mean you're also a rapist or abuser. How many child rapists don't even identify as pedophiles? Their rapes are situational much as prisoners who engage in homosexual behaviours may not identify as homosexuals outside of a prison enviroment. There's a world of differnece between a sexual orientation or preference, and being a rapist personality type. Not all pedophiles are rapists, as not all rapists are pedophiles.

The problem is pedophilia is maligned in popular press and entertainment and os is one of a very few groups of people upon whom it's still ok to be unfair, prejudicial, and cruel. Someone uses a homophobic slur in public and they're all but forced by law to apologise. But people can freely threaten pedophiles with murder and other crimes with no reprisals at all. Just as we shouldn't paint all members of a given religion with the same brush, we shouldn't continue to let ourselves believe all pedophiles are monsters lurking around playgrounds waiting to rape children. A rapist is a rapist, but a pedophile is a child-LOVER.
