So.. its been.

Postby strikeoflightning » Wed Jun 24, 2009 7:10 am

Over 6 years. Im an eyelash puller and it makes me want to shoot myself in the face most days. It was a stupid mistake. My eyelashes were always so long and girly, and im a guy. Im 19 years old and i cut them shorter because i was a stupid 13 year old who started pulling them after they were really easy to pull out and I got way too ahead of myself.. im sick to my stomach at the idiot I was to of done that and pretty much ruin my teenage life and who knows what else. It made me look foolish in public, the fact i put on eyeliner overtop made me look even more foolish and people judge me wherever I go, I can't escape the pain.. I really wish I could end this and re-start living as a normal person. I dont mean to offend anyone else with this rediculous curse. I just wish it was easier for us. Its torture emotionally, or maybe im just oversensitive. I just felt I needed to spill it out to people who understand.

Strikeoflightining, people can be stupid and judge you or just be mean to you because you're a little different. I don't have trich but I know what it's like to treated this way. You know, even if we can't start to live another life, we can still try to make the best of the one we have.
You didn't do it because you're an idiot, but because you had a real problem. Feel free to talk here!

I started it on a simple mistake, so ive been putting the blame on myself. And we can live another life. Its just a matter of beating this.

Yah, you're right, we can change our life. There's a bit of a difference between blaming yourself and accepting responsibility for something you did and trying to move on with a "light" heart. Blaming can make people unhappy, I think.
So what are you doing to beat this, if you don't mind my asking?

Blaming seems sensable. I don't want to do it. I can hear my thoughts telling me no as im doing it, but its almost like they have a mind of their own. Beating it really comes down to will power and changing your thoughts and situation, keeping your hands busy those all help. I can only do so much, but the more positive I am the easier it is. It just never lasts.

Can you get some help from a professional? You know, talking about it with others and encouraging yourself to make it can help too. You will get stronger and stronger the more you fight it and at one point it will last.

I've been to a psychologist about it. He just didn't seem to get it, I don't even get it sometimes. People say its because of stress we do it. So im assuming theres all sorts of different reasons, cause im stressed a lot but I don't think thats the cause.

Maybe you have to find one who's dealt with this before, successfully. I think there might be support groups as well. There must be more than one reason, maybe some people are even predisposed to it.
