Will hair grow back?

Hi everyone!

This is my first post here. First of all I want to say that I am very glad that such forum exists so I know I am not alone and that I can talk about my problem freely.

I wanted to ask about your experience with hair growing back. Did your hair grow back? And if yes how long did it take? I know those are usual questions but I didnt find any topic about it here.

I pull my hair in a place behind my left ear. Do you have any experiences with hair growing back on this place?

I have been pulling my hair already for five years, on different places and with different intensity. I have become very intensive in the place behind my left ear during last year and I already managed to create there a visible bald spot. But I want to quit and I would like to know how long does it take to tell if my hair are dead or not.

I have bald spots all over the place! And it usually takes a long time... I haven't kept record or anything, though. I'm a sophomore in college now and have been pulling since I was in the fourth grade. I don't really pull behind my ears, but I pull repeatedly along my hairline... and to be honest, I think some hasn't even grown back, or hasn't grown to it full potential. So when I tie my hair back, I have to use bobby pins or hair spray to move existing hair to cover exposed scalp. For the most part, however, most of the other bald spots do grow hair back..how long it takes, I'm not exactly positive. I would give it at least a month (sometimes I tend to pull out small growing hairs so that postpones everything).
