yea going to the dr. stressed me out more too. first it talks about what it is, then they outline what each sessions should be like. i haven't read all of it yet though. then they have little tricks that you can do, such as playing with something and keeping both of your hands busy. so as far as i understand, they first try to get you to preoccupy yourself. once that is undercontrol, they want you to face the problem and to understand what it is and to give you a realistic point of view on how your life is going to be with this problem and how your attitdue should be like to conquer it.
i'm not a doctor though, this is only my point of view on what i have read so far.. in a book that i probably shouldn't have.

Samara, maybe having this book isn't such a bad idea, especially if you're learning what you can do to avoid pulling and everything. No one here is a doctor but any one can give a little support or even advice

i think that today is the first time really since i've gotten the book that i've pulled.. but it isn't so much pulling as it is breaking the hair off.. so i'm not pulling out the root.
a lot of it has to do with the added stress in my life right now.. but i've also noticed that.. well.. i've noticed my hair growing.. the hair that i have pulled out from the root is growing.. so there are all these short little hairs now.. i dont pull at them.. but i guess i good way of describing it is that i pat them since they are on the top of my head.
i guess i'm making progress.. but like i've said before.. i dont want to live with this.. i want it gone..

Of course you want it gone. Maybe it will get easier when the hairs will be longer, cause you won't have that constant reminder.

i'm also frustrated cuz the last hair cut i got was really bad. i've been getting it cut above my shoulders thinking that it would help me. it did at first but my hair is just pissing me off now cuz she cut it so badly. i think thats one of the worst things you can do to a trichster.. a really bad haircut to just put icing on the cake.
i'm just stressed out and everything.. i know this is important but i dont have time to monitor myself really.

Could you go to another place and maybe have it corrected? Do you think it'd help if you spent some time making it look pretty with hair products?

You can try to post about it in the Living with mental illness forum as it's a bit more popular.
