Is it Trich?

Postby Azotre » Mon May 30, 2016 6:09 pm

I watch her suffer and it breaks my heart....

My fiancee is 21 years of age and I watch her suffer. She cries in my arms because the bald spots grow and she feels like everyone is looking at her.

It breaks my heart watching her suffer.

It's a fairly new thing, and I'm so unsure of it's Trich or some skin disorder....... I found this forum and I'm hoping beyond hope that someone can point me in the right direction

She lacks eyebrows, and has patches of her hair missing. We've cut her hair short so it's hard to pick, but she still pulls off her brows and now her hair is growing back and she's able to pick again.

She doesn't complain about an obsessive need to pull. She complains about pain. Her eyebrows hurt and she has to get rid of the hairs that hurt. Their are spots of her scalp that hurt and she has to pull the hair to get rid of it. She even tells me it sometimes it hurts when I run my fingers along her scalp

Could it be Trich? Or could it be more....

Please my friends, help me give my beloved solace....

I suffer from it too, many people do actually so make sure she doesn't feel alone. Tell her 4% of the population suffer from it, because they do.
Great Advice: get her acrylic nails, although this comes in pretty expensive it makes it impossible to pull any hairs out and is a life saving technique. But of course with all great things comes a price but you will have to be willing to pay its expense, which inc, idea the actual nail set and filling the nails in at a salon every 2nd week. Expensive, but oh so completely worth it.
Get her to wear light gloves at night and at home and get her to wear hats/beanies ASWELL. Make a chart for her so she can tick and cross the days she pulls and keep a journal so she can record when she does it and how she feels, and when she reaches a specific time without pulling at all buy her a small reward.
Please do all of these as it can help immensely!
Good luck
P.S be as supportive as you can as I know how heartbreaking, depressing and upsetting it is to suffer from it.
Best wishes X
