Hello everyone

Hello.

I think I might have TS :? I havnt been to the doctor yet cos im really embarrassed about it. I sort of remeber tics when I was about 7 or 8, blinking, squinting and making humming sounds. Im 19 now and those have stopped but other tics have reared there uglyhead. I make wiered high pitched sounds, sniff, clear throat, jerking and I scratch my self a littleto try and sto the tics. I have never spoke to anyone about it but they have probably noticed it anyway.
What should I do?

hiya zep

id get yourself off to the docs and ask to be assesed.its nothing to be ashamed of mate!.it does sound to me like tourettes though.my son has tourettes too.he doesnt take any medication for it as he felt it was just something hed like to learn to cope with.but we know people who have had good results from taking meds for thier tourettes.good luck

Ok I have been the docs....she was horrible. She didnt have a clue about ts and kept asking what I do and I told her but she didnt care. I then then burst into tears and couldnt stop and she finally said she would make an appointment with a neurologist....that was two weeks ago whats taking her so long?? :?

 If I hadnt cried I would of had hit her!!

You waited 2 months?! wow! Didnt think it would take so long! Ithink I will be ok thi time, I've had my cry (it was never ending) and now Im more focused on what to say, but it was the way the doc said, 'what makes you think you have it' and 'what do you do?' I thought docs were ment to be helpful and caring
I hope your son goes through life not caring about TS, hes alot stronger than I am, I wanna be normal you know. When you thought he might have TS how did you approuch him? cos when my mum said it and shouted at her, and got angry. :?

Im glad you reply to me, you really cheer me up thanks :D
