Hi all,
My 8 year old daughter has always had one tic or another. In the past year, they have become more prominent. Her teacher has even commented on it.
My question is, do I need to have her seen by a dr. for confirmation? From what I've read there isn't really anything they can do.
So far, it's not disruptive in class. But very noticeable.
Just looking for some advice,
Angie

Hi Angie,
What sort of 'confirmation' are you after? If you mean an official diagnosis, then - yes - you need to go to a doctor. If you want to self-diagnose your daughter, then that is fine if you are really sure about it and understand how best to manage it. It might be helpful to arrange an appointment with a doctor anyway. This could permit you to learn more about what options are available to you with regard to treatment/further help.
