Need Vaccinations For A Job

Postby alexm321 » Tue Apr 24, 2018 10:40 pm

Hello! So like the title says, I have recently been hired for a new job but there's just one problem, they require vaccinations.

I have been "Tourette's free" for about 11 years now. Mine started when I was 6, a year after my vaccinations and right when I started at a new school. My neurologist immediately told me to stop getting vaccinations and stop getting the flu shot. As soon as I did, by the time I was around 12, they went away almost completely. I also changed my diet and ate more organically. I still have facial tics when I'm tired or stressed, but it's pretty subtle and very easy to live with compared to how it was before. I don't even think people really notice it, thankfully.

That being said, I don't know what to do. This is an amazing job and I'd hate to have to throw it all away because of vaccinations. But, I know if I tell them that I can't get vaccines due to my past with Tourette's, they wouldn't understand/wouldn't believe me. In the past I have used the whole religious exemption to get away with it in school, but I'm not sure this will fly here. Also have used the "allergic to vaccines" excuse or "had a bad reaction," but in this case I'm sure I'd need a doctor confirming that I indeed did have a bad reaction.

Have any of you had this problem? What did you do? What shold I do? Honestly, no amount of money would make me risk having Tourette's again, which I'm sure many of you can agree with that.
