Cost of therapy

I am having a problem paying my Psychiatrist $250 a session. I realize he is a MD, but it's a lot of money, even if I can afford it. When I bring up cost it's " we need to see why money is an issue for you." How do I get out of therapy? I feel like I can get quality therapy for less than half the price. But since I have issues sticking up for myself as we as confrontation, it's hard for me to fire him.

I feel you, I do. That is a lot of money, it's not just you, or that money is an issue. For me I just resented being charged extortionate fees for someone to sit a listen to me witter on for 50 mins. Then wrap it up with some self help quote of the day.
I can get that for half the price, and with less condescension from a regular T.
