I should also have mentioned that everyone who takes part is entered into a prize draw to win £50 or £25 of Marks and Spencers vouchers.

OK, I give up. Where's the original post?

I have Asperger Syndrome, and evidently prosopagnosia / face blindness. This is a regular cause of embarrassment when I ignore people because I don't know them, only to be reminded by partner that that was X and Y, you've already met them twice and you spoke to X for half an hour, etc. It never occurred to me that the two conditions might be linked. Some faces however I can remember, for no obvious reason, so it's a bit selective but happens often enough to say it's not just forgetfulness. Once I've met people a few times, their face usually registers and I'm ok after that.

I went into a resteraunt a few weeks back and sitting at a table in the corner were 3 co-workers. They said hello I of course said hello quickly and sat down at my own table.

I went to the restroom and when i got out i forced myself to walk towards their table, sitting there were 2 guys i saw almost daily at work and one of their spouses who had left the job a few months back. I did not recognise them untill I was walking towards them after getting out of the bathroom.

Even though my table was maybe 18 feet from where they were and they were angled towards me.

Hi
This is the original post, I don't know why it has disappeared.

Hi all. I am looking for some adults with autism to take part in a study I am doing as part of a Masters research project at King's college london. I am looking at face processing in those with autism and whether differences in how they look at faces impacts on social interaction. The research involves doing some computer tasks, identifying faces on a computer screen and some questionnaires. The research takes approximately 4hours (spread over 2 sessions), unfortunately it is not possible to pay participants to take part in the study but we can over travel costs (within London) to get to the University. Please contact me if you would like further information about this project or would be interested in taking part.

It would be really great if you would be interested in taking part in my study.
Thanks
Alexa
