Childhood experiences of people with addictions survey.

Postby sclayton » Sun Sep 27, 2009 5:32 pm

Childhood experiences of adults with sexual, gambling, drug and/or alcohol difficulties.

• How does somebody develop an addiction?
• Are there childhood experiences that make it more likely that someone will develop such difficulties?
• Do those with such difficulties have different kinds of influential child experiences?

You can help us research and answer these questions. If you are over 18 and feel you have some difficulties with compulsive use of sex, alcohol, drugs or gambling then you are invited to follow this link and complete the online survey. It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Hopefully you will find the questions interesting, whilst adding to the literature on compulsive behaviours to inform professionals in the future. Please have a look at the following link,

Thanks for your time and thanks for looking.

Hey

My name is Sarah and I am person who is doing this study as part of my training to become a psychologist and hopefully later work in the field of addictions.

Firstly, thanks for even looking at this study when there are so many other interesting studies to look at. Secondly, I was just wondering what stops people going on the complete the survey? Is it the length? I really would appreciate your comments on this as to be honest with you, I think I need as much help as I can get!

Thanks

Sarah :D
