I do not mind bees at all, except for carpenter bees. Bastards drill into my house, which is bad enough, but then damn woodpeckers hear them in the wood and tear the house up to get to the bees. Very innocuous bees, however. I'll swat them out of the air with my hand. Honeybees are ok, I've not had the misfortune to run into any Africanized bees.

I hate wasps. As prolific as rabbits and mean-tempered. ######6 wasps.

You sound a lot like my mother with this phobia, she's been stung before and she's terrified of bees and wasps herself. Personally I'm not afraid of them, I can remember times when I would be coming out of Subway with my sandwich and a wasp would often follow me, my friends were afraid but I just kept walking until it left me alone :P

Just, um, be careful if you ever go to Japan, they're Giant Hornets over there, which can be lethal when the attack in numbers (and they do attack in numbers).

If I go to Japan I'll stop by the hardware store.

I hate wasps too. Minding my own business a few weeks ago when one stung me not once, but twice. Useless pieces of doo doos, at least bees serve a purpose.

They supposedly eat something or other but who cares they're a pestilence.
