What treatment for Social Anxiety Disorder has helped you the most so far. I would like you to share because I am developing a bad mild case of social anxiety disorder and i would like to know what some of my options are.

I have serious trust issues with therapists so the only therapy I really get is hanging out with friends, people I trust.
Ive also learned not to spend long isolated from people and I try to avoid going out in public alone.
Hope that helps some

I'm currently taking Celexa for Social Anxiety, I am still in the first week but I have heard from many people that their SA goes down around the fourth week. I have already noticed that I do not dwell on my negative emotions at all since I've begun taking the med.

I would suggest cognitive behavoural therapy. It's helped plenty of people with social phobia. Try reading books about it. I read one that was extremely helpful... I wish I remember the name. It had four authors... I believe one of them was Barbara Markway. Medication is another helpful bonus but I wouldn't go on them unless you seriously believe it's necessary.

What helped me was a medication called Nardil. It is a type of medication called MAOI's (MonAmine Oxidase Inhibiters).
Other people have reported being helped by other MAOI's as well.
(check out the What Works topic under the Social Phobia Forum.
Support and therapy is important as well, but for me the medication eliminated the anxiety and social phobia, allowing me to deal with the other issues caused by having untreated social phobia and anxiety for 35 years.
Talk to your doctor about it.
