Medication

Postby patm3300 » Fri Nov 25, 2005 6:34 pm

what medication are you currently taking for social anxiety disorder. right now i am taking prozac for depression but i am not sure if that is supposed to work for social anxiety disorder. i am also on risperdal and ativan, but i cannot take the risperdal in the day because it makes me too tired and the ativan doesnt work well when i take it during the day. my psychiatrist told me that i have social anxiety disorder but he really did not say much about the treatment of it.

Zoloft does, Effexor does as a side effect, but that lets up. I'm sure alot of them do, but not all of them stay.

Medication will effect everyone differently though, likely effect women more then men with some and vice versa, just got to learn to deal with it and hope that the side effect does go away.

but it is just so hard to have faith in the medication when it has pretty bad side effects as well as not having the effects that it was intended to have

I know, I had a really hard time with side effects while on Celexa once and had to get off of it, even on the smallest dose it was not making me feel good at all.
