STOP LOOKING AT ME!

Postby radames » Fri Mar 14, 2008 9:11 pm

Does anyone else feel that people are constantly staring at them and trying to invade your "privacy bubble?" It feels as though they are trying to take something from me, some of my essence, which they, of course, can't, but today feels like a day when I feel a little emotionally "drunk" and the feelings vibrate in my chest when I am aware that someone could be looking at me. It messes with my focus a little. This also happens when the weather changes and more moisture is in the skies, like a storm coming. Am I a dog?

If you are, you're the smartest dog I know!

I don't think I have a social phobia, but the last few days since the incident, I feel like crawling in a hole, and staying in a dark room. Don't want people to see me, cos I feel they'll know what happened from looking at me.

I don't mind people looking at me if I'm happy though

Hey, radames! I hate it when people stare at me too. I guess they don't all mean to make you feel weird, but it can be annoying. The weather affects me as well, but I'd like to be a kittie.

I know that feeling. I think it is just a feeling of needing some space. Sometimes I want to work on something...like a piece of art...and I don't want people even walking near me because I want my work space to be private! Or sometimes it is just that I don't want to be bothered and every little thing that someone says or does just makes me feel like they are breathing down my neck! I think it is just that you need some privacy and that is what makes you feel that way. I think everyone has experienced something similar.

I have violent reactions to people staring at me as well. I don't necessarily feel afraid that they are judging me harshly (which is typical Social Phobia), but more (like you said) that they are invading my space and taking something from me. I have intense desires to throw canned vegetables at people in the grocery store when they're staring at me... things like that. I don't act on those impulses, but have lost it and verbally confronted people who were staring at me in public.

What really annoys me is if there is a group of people talking and they just so happened to be looking toward me while they talk. I really have to get out of their line of sight, and usually roll my eyes so that they can see. Also, if they lick their lips, like some ######6 animal (dog lol) I just want to strangle them like "do you want me to take a $#%^ and forcefeed it down your ######6 throat?! Here wait, I ate some beans earlier coming out you ######6 ass!!"
Ok, that felt good to get out.

I'll tell you what I hate! When you just state the fact "I'm thirsty" and someone responds "Well then drink something already!" I just HATE that! I was just saying I was thirsty and it meant I was gonna drink something DUH! I can't stand that!

I hate getting stared at too, but it's mitigated a LOT when I'm with someone I know and trust. I can focus on them rather than on the stares. I can be much bolder then. And have a lot more fun.

I have a very 'little girl' look dress that I plan to wear on my next date. Draws lots of attention, but if I'm with my date I can do it, and enjoy it.
