Social Anxiety And Autism

Postby moisautistic » Fri May 04, 2018 4:25 am

Social Anxiety is tough, and for me there does not seem any end to it. It just keeps going and going and going. I am very lonely and feel very isolated at times. I always hear my parents saying that the only way to overcome it is to get outside where there is a lot of people. That would work if I wasn't autistic. Most of the time I feel hopeless and lonely. Even though I'm and adult I feel like nothing has changed since I was a kid. I feel the same. I'm still that awkward guy without friends. For me the road to recovery is a long one. But I'm happy to find a forum with people who similar struggles. If anyone reads this that will be much appreciated. Thank You! :D

When I was a teenager, the social anxiety hit me when I started high school. I was happy and social in elementary school. The school-ratings decreased. After school I started to work, which went pretty fine, but the my social anxiety developed to pure paranoia and started to eat haloperidol. And then I got my autistic diagnosis. Asperger syndrome, or perhaps high functioning autism. That explained a part of my problems.

Now 15-20 years later, I'm still eating haloperidol, which works fine except I get rigid in my spine. And I'm also eating a lot of other psychotropics. I'm still sick leave and an early retirement.

But, my social anxiety is gone! I like to play clown on parties and similar situations.
I use Google Translate - Sorry for grammar- or typographical error.

For now, I'm on...
-Venlafaxine 375 mg - Against depression
-Pregabalin 225 mg - Against anxiety
-Haloperidol 3 mg - Against paranoia and psychoses
-Clonazepam 2 mg - Against anxiety
-Alimemazine 120 mg - For sleep
-Zopiclone 7,5 mg - For sleep
