I remember reading about this when the study got released. I read the study, the critiques of the study, and the praises of it. I remember being pretty angry because this was back when one of the medications I was on was an SSRI (specifically for social anxiety) and I was wondering why 1) it didn't do $#%^ and 2) I started having panic attacks out of the blue off an on the meds, every other day. Makes sense if I have been on a reuptake inhibitor, increasing the serotonin when my serotonin is supposedly already increased.
But, as with all the former studies, there were also a bunch of people with low levels of serotonin with the same level of social anxiety as the people with higher levels. So it's another gamble.
Thanks for sharing though. I feel like if people are going to take meds, or looking into bio-chemical processes, they should know very well about the research, ups and downs.
I like living in the world in my head because I'm in charge half the time.
