I,
- have social anxiety disorder
- have depression
- have panic attack
- and am a smoker.
When I don't smoke for a long time;
- heart rate decreasing
- social anxiety decreasing
- general anxiety decreasing
- but depression and suicidal thoughts strongly increasing
Does anyone have any similar experiences or any comments?
My comment is that nicotine withdrawal reduces dopamine and low dopamine level increases depression but I'm not sure that high dopamine level causes anxiety or panic attack.

Smoking, I find to worsen my anxiety and depression in the long run. I just had a few cigs today (after quitting for a week) and now I feel WORSE! Omg. I flushed the rest down the toilet. Cigarettes only give me momentarily relief. It is not worth it to me. the next time I have a craving i will continue to remind myself how bad and unstable I felt today.
Btw, I only had 1 panic attack my whole life and it happened after I smoked a cigarette.

Honestly as a way to 'self-treat' myself, I'm considering getting some snus to use, so the nicotine will calm my nerves when I'm out.
