You are not alone

Hi, I'm from Poland,I found this forum by chance, I read your posts and I started to feel better, because I understood that there is so many people who are in the similar situation like I am,who know how it feels to be shy,to suffer from social phobia.I no longer feel like alien from another planet. No matter where you are from, people all around the world may have this terrible ilness, social phobia. So many of you are from USA and I am from small country in eastern Europe, there are many differences between our countries, cultural difeferences, political, economical but one thing is the same: In Poland and in Usa and in each country in the world, there are people like we are- having problems with social life, isn't it amazing ?
My biggest problem are so called "interviews"when looking for the job. I feel so stressed,so paralysed, that I'm unable to say anything,my hands sweat a lot,my heart beats fast, I feel like complete idiot,I have an impression that "the future boss " thinks:
"She is so stupid,so ugly,I won't employ her "
That scares me and stopes from changing my present job that is boring and extremely badly-paid. I'd like to work somewhere abroad but I am too shy and too scared to go  Besides nobody will employ me becouse of my fear.
PS. My English wishes a lot to be desired,so forgive me mistakes :)

thanks for sharing.. =)

social phobia is a universal phenomenon. hopefully, you, me, and everyone else who suffers from social anxiety will be able to lessen its negative impact on us.

i know it's easier said than done, but next time when you're in a job interview, how about going into it feeling prepared, confident, and calm? tell yourself that you can do it, that you CAN beat this shyness. say to yourself that you really want this job, so you can quit your current one. think about all of the good that can come from being confident, from being less shy. emphasize what's good inside of you.

i hope that helps...
