ughh, is this normal??

Postby madison20152 » Sun Jan 09, 2011 3:05 am

I'm 14, and pretty much all my life i've had sleepwalking issues. Some have been pretty bad, which freaks me out.
Since I was younger, my parents have always mentioned me getting up at night, and talking to them, and i won't remember it. Apparently i wouldnt talk senseless stuff either. They could carry on a conversation with me, while i was sleepwalking. And when i was 13, it only got worse. It was summer and i went to bed watching a movie. Next thing i know, im taking a shower. I dont remember getting up, so i looked at the clock. 2:00 AM, it read. I FREAKED. I never seriously considered that i had a problem. I got up my mom and she also freaked, but told me to go back to bed. I start to my bedroom, and when i get there i noticed that my bedding was stripped off my bed and i couldn't find it. turns out, it was on the end of my parent's bed. My mom helped me get it back on my bed, and she put a chair in my doorway to stop me if i sleepwalked again. I wasnt' stressed out or anything then, i was perfectly fine and loving life. I havent' really had anything else up until last night. My best friend was staying over, and we got our helix's and doubles pierced earlier that night. We were watching The Crazies (a movie ) and fell asleep to it. the next morning, my mom told me I had gotten up during the night and told her "Mom, my ears hurt and it hurts to sleep on my side." She told me to sleep on my back and go back to bed. I do not remember ANY of this. It really scares me that i have NO control over myself when i sleep. Please help me
Madison :)

Hello, Madison! Have you talked to a doctor about this? Lots of people probably sleep walk and do stuff they don't remember. Don't be scared and see a professional, maybe they'll be able to help, since this is causing you stress. Ask your regular doctor where you might find someone who specializes in this.

When i was younger i used to talk, and walk in my sleep all the time until it just stopped. From ages 10-14 i didnt do it and then recently i found out i started walking in my sleep. I was really scared because i didnt know what was causing this, and also scared because i would get up walk around, and then walk back to my bed. i wasnt sure what i was doing during that time period though so i was really nervous about it D: its hard for me to stay at peoples houses because i walk around and talk in my sleep. I have been stressed out a little bit lately so i was thinking that thats what mgiht be triggering it. But the best thing to do would be to talk to a doctor about it. :)
