I didn't even get the urge to shoplift today, which is great! I paid for the things I wanted, then rewarded myself to a nice new pair of earrings. Splendid "high" feeling.

That "high" is pride , at your self control and your ability to deny the impulse to do something that you know is dangerous and wrong .
Waaaay better than a cheap thrill followed by fear , guilt and self loathing . I found that the longer I resist them , the more the compulsions begin to fade . I rarely get them these days , maybe one or two a year . I consider them " ghost thoughts" . There's no power left in them . They are gone with a wave of my hand .
