Xanax and links to stealing

Does anyone have information on this? Does anyone agree that Xanax can lead to shoplifting, thieving, raids, etc?

I believe Xanax or any other benzodiazepine would make a person less afraid to steal, but I've never heard of a connection between benzo use and stealing.

Just out of personal experience I would identify some sort of link between the two. The only times I've been caught shoplifting have been when I have been brazen about it whilst on benzodiazapines such as xanax, ativan etc and behaved in a manner so careless I've left myself wide open and been busted. Could also be due to the fact that benzodiazapines impair your cognitive thinking to a degreee, so without fear/anxiety/initiative/etc it would make sense for people to be less cautious of committing acts such as shoplifting/risk taking,etc.

yes. benzos. yes, this. athey bsolutely disinhibit and... theres definitely a reward system component.. stealing on benzos can kinda get you high

A friend of mine is recovering from an addiction to Xanax. She said she would shoplift frequently simply because she was so high/out of it she would forget to pay and just walk out of the store.
