Wanting to stop

Hey guys, I was out with a person I know and it was her birthday, so I bought her a little birthday cake. But when we were getting the candles for the cake, I realized we didn't need a whole box of candles we just need one for this small cake. So I took one out and walked out of the store paying only for the cake, not the candle. I thought it was harmless and even for a good purpose. Do you think I should do something about it? And it doesn't help that the birthday girl who was with me when it happened is posting all over facebook that I stole a candle and I'm a thief. I'm just a little stressed about it all. Just looking for a little advice.

That girl should not be posting on her facebook that you're a thief, that could be very harmful to your reputation and potentially get you in trouble with the law. If people confront you about it, just deny it ever happened but in the future don't let people who are with you know that you're stealing, they might have a negative reaction just like that girl did. Just be careful about getting caught, that's the main problem.

Wow that girl is a punk bitch, its not like you stone hundreds of $$$.. I would just deny the whole thing. Or say something like you didnt have the money to buy the whole box, and you can say something like you went back later and bought that box of candles that you opened
